Introduction
:- Fever, it is a temporary increase in body temperature of 98.6°F (37°C). The primary goal in the treatment of fever is to relieve the discomfort by returning the body
temperature to normal.
The main reason for getting a fever is due to bacteria and fungus. When bacteria and
fungus will enter into our body. Our body makes a process called fever. Our
white blood cells release pyrogens chemicals. These pyrogens reach the
Hypothalamus. Hypothalamus is the centre for maintaining body temperature.
When
there is more temperature the bacteria and fungus will die. But this
temperature should not be more than 2 days. It is harmful to the body.
Fever is
generally not considered as dangerous, but hyperthermia can cause dangerous
rises in Body temperature.
Symptoms of
fever:-
Sweating, Headache, Muscle weakness, Irritability, Dehydration, General weakness.
Medications to control Fever:-
1. Anti-biotics would be used for bacterial
infection.
2. Medicines such as paracetamol and ibuprofen
may help to control fever.
3. Drinking more water, helps to control body
temperature through sweating.
4. Sitting in a lukewarm bath makes the
temperature down.
