Are there birds that eat rocks?


                                       
                                                             Yes , there is a bird that eats stones. Name of the bird is Ostrich. It also eats pieces of iron and other things. Usually it eats plants, seeds, berries etc. But they all eat rocks and iron to digest them. The world's largest bird is an Ostrich. The life span of Ostrich is 40-45 years . The  Its weight is about 130 kg. The height is up to 2.5 meters.



Ostrich is the fastest running bird in the world. It is the tallest and heaviest of all birds .  But this bird does not fly. The ostrich does not have the usual melodic tone of birds. The male makes a loud noise when he meets a female. That sound can be heard far and wide. It has three stomachs . The egg of the ostrich can be upto 15 centimeters long .
